Dear Friends of the Ridgewood Cemetery:

The Trustees of the Ridgewood Cemetery Association are pleased to be writing this letter to you, as an introduction to our new quarterly Ridgewood Cemetery Newsletter.

In the summer of 2009, with generous grants from the Town of North Andover (through its Community Preservation Committee), the Stevens Foundation and other donors, the Trustees of the Ridgewood Cemetery Association embarked on a mission of thoughtful and careful planning for the future, while intent on preserving the rich history of its past.

Since then the Ridgewood Cemetery has witnessed the restoration and opening of our Gatehouse Administration Building, the development of a Landscape Master Plan, the restoration of the Atkins Gate and Historic Landscape on Marbleridge Road, the commencement of work on a new and unique burial area, and finally, much needed improvements to our Veteran’s Lot where the Town of North Andover convenes annually for its Memorial Day services.

At the same time, our Superintendent and his grounds crew work hard throughout all seasons to maintain the landscape through spring and fall cleanups, daily grass cutting, tree pruning, removal and planting as needed, and of course, snow removal to make the Ridgewood Cemetery accessible to all.

Through these newsletters we hope that you will be enlightened by some of our recent efforts and become actively engaged as a Friend of Ridgewood Cemetery.  Please consider volunteering to help with one of our ongoing new projects.  And if possible, please consider making a tax-deductible contribution toward the continued restoration and beautification of the Ridgewood Cemetery. In closing, we invite you to visit the new Ridgewood Cemetery office, daily from 9 a.m. until noon, or online at www.ridgewoodcemetery.org.  To personally discuss our new initiatives and how you can help, feel free to contact a Trustee by calling the cemetery office.

Sincerely,
The Trustees
Ridgewood Cemetery Association
